Leadership

The SDSS-CC governance team consists of one or more faculty directors, the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS) Chief Information Officer (CIO), and a governance group containing one faculty representative from each department. The current SDSS-CC governance team is

  • Co-Directors:
    • Eric Dunham, Geophysics
    • John Freshwaters, SDSS CIO
  • Governance group representatives:
    • Biondo Biondi, Geophysics
    • Jef Caers, Geological Sciences
    • Leif Thomas, Earth System Science
    • Lou Durlofsky, Energy Resources Engineering
    • Oliver Fringer, Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE)

The CIO, with oversight and input from the director(s) and faculty governance group, is the primary operational manager of the SDSS-CC resource activities. The governance group and directors serve as the primary liaisons between individual research groups in their respective departments and SDSS-CC leadership. The SDSS-CC governance team routinely solicits input and feedback from the Stanford Earth research community members in order to inform future investments, identify resource gaps, and maintain appropriate resource alignment with research needs.
